The prime minister stated that the only reason he came in Dasu was to convey his heartfelt condolences and thoughts to his Chinese brothers and sisters over the tragic event that happened on March 26 and resulted in the deaths of five Chinese and one local. He stated that the terrorists’ heinous behaviour in killing innocent Chinese and a Pakistani was motivated only by their desire to sabotage and undermine the unique bond that exists between Pakistan and China. (retd) Sajjad Ghani, and Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.
The prime minister called it a plot by Pakistan’s adversaries and described it as a heinous crime by those who took advantage of every chance to damage the friendship, which was growing and progressing quickly and getting stronger every day. He said, “For this reason, adversaries seize every chance to inflict harm and drive a rift between the two Iron Brothers.”
Premier Sharif expressed that they were both experiencing a period of pain and sorrow, but he also gave the assurance that the government will do all within its power to provide the best security measures for Chinese nationals and families.
Additionally, he gave the Chinese leadership, people, and ambassador his word that every security measure possible would be taken to ensure that the Chinese people could work alongside and support a successful, developing Pakistan. The prime minister stated that he had visited the embassy right away following the event to convey the condolences of his administration and the people of Pakistan to the Chinese leadership and people. He also said that a joint inquiry team had been created that same day and that the team’s findings might be submitted at any moment.
He also promised that they will move quickly to implement the investigation committee’s findings in full. Additionally, he mentioned that on March 27, there was a high-level security conference wherein the topic of improved collaboration with provincial governments about supplementary security measures was deliberated. The PM declared that the adversaries of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be vanquished, and that the friendship between the two countries would advance harmoniously. Speaking on the event, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong stated that the prime minister had promised Chinese people of their safety during his visit to the embassy. In addition, he thanked the Pakistani government and people for their show of support and said that they were prepared to collaborate in order to strengthen their strategic alliance with Pakistan.
