General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff( COAS), visited Heavy Industry Taxila

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M) paid a visit to Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) today to attend the HAIDER tank (Pilot Project) launch ceremony.

The People’s Republic of China’s ambassador, important representatives of the Chinese state corporation NORINCO, high ranking officials from the Pakistan Army and Government of Pakistan, and a number of HIT military and civilian officials attended the ceremony. HIT introduced its new Tank HAIDER at the event. This tank was made in Pakistan in partnership with NORINCO China and several companies in the country.

With its exceptional firepower, armour, and manoeuvrability, HAIDER is a tank fighting machine that exemplifies state-of-the-art technology. HAIDER, which was created using cutting-edge sophisticated technology, is proof of the Pakistani military industry’s unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in defence innovation.

The HAIDER tank’s technological capabilities and the advancements achieved towards indigenousization of weapons and armaments were thoroughly detailed to COAS.

While on a tour of the Heavy Industrial Complex’s other industrial facilities, COAS noted the commanders’ and workers’ dedication to achieving yet another technological first.
