Mumbai, 30 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has shared the romantic story of how he proposed to his wife, Alia Bhatt, during a visit to Kenya’s Maasai Mara wilderness, revealing that three lions were nearby at the time. Ranbir recalled the memorable moment during an appearance on the television programme Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, where he joined the team of his upcoming film Ramayana. He said he had planned the proposal in advance and asked his guide, who was also driving their vehicle, to stop at a particular location in the wilderness. Carrying a ring, he intended to get out of the vehicle, kneel down and ask Alia to marry him. During the conversation, host Amitabh Bachchan humorously suggested that such a special occasion should also have photographic evidence. Recalling the moment, Ranbir said three lions were standing around 100 metres away while Alia, whom he affectionately described as his “lioness”, stood in front of him as he went down on one knee and proposed. The actor described the experience as one of the most beautiful moments of his life, adding that it would always remain unforgettable. Ranbir and Alia’s friendship developed into a romantic relationship in 2018 while they were working together on Brahmastra. The actor proposed to Alia in 2022, and the couple tied the knot on April 14, 2022, in an intimate ceremony at their Mumbai residence.
