Shadab Khan Aims to Deliver with Both Bat and Ball

LAHORE, 26 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has said his goal is to perform consistently with both bat and ball after scoring an unbeaten century against England in a Tri-Nation Series match at Gaddafi Stadium. Speaking to the media after the match, Shadab said he would dedicate his century to his family and give them credit for his achievement. He added that he could not hear the crowd during his innings because he was completely focused on his performance. “My goal is to perform well with both bat and ball,” he said, adding that as a senior player, he was not concerned about his batting position and was simply happy to have played a good innings. Commenting on comparisons with Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s famous innings, Shadab said Maxwell’s performance was the kind of knock associated with a World Cup, whereas his own was a strong innings in a series. He said the World Cup was still some time away and he was not looking that far ahead, but if selected for the tournament, he would do his best to help Pakistan lift the trophy. Earlier, during the post-match presentation, Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi praised Shadab and Haris Rauf, saying he had no words to describe their achievement and expressing satisfaction with their partnership. Shadab also credited Haris Rauf for supporting him throughout the innings, noting that the conditions were different on the day and England’s bowlers came under pressure. “I am happy that my innings helped the team win,” Shadab said, adding that the playing conditions had led him to believe the bowlers could be put under pressure.
