Islamabad, 30 September, 2026 (Ghufran): A high-level meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s House to review the security and law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with possible constitutional measures, including Governor’s Rule or an emergency, under discussion. According to sources, federal ministers, senior officials and other relevant authorities attended the meeting, where the overall security situation in KP and across the country was reviewed. The participants also discussed constitutional provisions, including Articles 233 and 234, in connection with possible measures in the province. Federal ministers have alleged that the KP government is pursuing political objectives and is not providing sufficient cooperation to state institutions in dealing with the threat posed by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The KP government has rejected these allegations and maintained that the federal government cannot prevent its planned long march. Meanwhile, PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai had also written to party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, urging him to postpone the planned long march in view of the prevailing situation.
