ISLAMABAD, 28 September, 2026 (Ghufran): The Foreign Office summoned Afghan Ambassador Sardar Shakib and handed him a demarche over the violation of Pakistan’s airspace by Afghanistan, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson. The spokesperson said the Afghan ambassador was summoned to lodge a formal protest over the alleged violation of Pakistan’s airspace by the Afghan Taliban regime. According to security sources, on September 23, eight drones were sent towards Pakistan’s airspace from Afghanistan. Pakistan’s air defence system intercepted and destroyed all eight drones, foiling what officials described as an attempt to violate the country’s airspace. Security sources said four drones were brought down in areas adjoining the Torkham border, while the remaining four were destroyed in mountainous areas along the border near Kohat.
