Washington, 26 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): US President Donald Trump has shared an 87-second excerpt from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in which the Pakistani premier thanked Trump for his “timely intervention” during the 2025 India-Pakistan military confrontation. In the video shared on Trump’s Truth Social account, Shehbaz Sharif described India’s action as external aggression and credited Pakistan’s military leadership for the country’s response, while thanking Trump for his role in helping bring the confrontation to an end. Trump shared the clip without adding a separate comment. India has disputed claims of third-party intervention in the 2025 conflict and has maintained that the cessation of military action followed direct contact between the two countries’ military operations chiefs.
