Islamabad, 18 September 2026 (Nosheen): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening bilateral relations with Turkiye in key priority areas. He made the remarks during a meeting with Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan Irfan Neziroğlu, who called on the deputy prime minister and discussed bilateral relations as well as the evolving regional situation. The Turkish ambassador briefed Ishaq Dar on progress under various bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors following recent high-level interactions between the two countries. Dar emphasised the need for relevant departments on both sides to closely coordinate preparations for the forthcoming Joint Commission and the 8th session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council to further advance the bilateral agenda. Discussing regional developments, the deputy prime minister stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remained the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
