NEW DELHI, 13 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received major relief from the Delhi High Court in a case concerning the controversial film Kala Hiran, with the court temporarily restraining its release in cinemas. According to Indian media reports, the court recorded the statement of the film’s producer Amit Jani during a hearing held on Saturday. The court observed that the film cannot be released in cinemas while the matter of its certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) remains pending. Kala Hiran is a crime thriller and drama inspired by the 1998 blackbuck hunting incident in Rajasthan, in which Salman Khan’s name also emerged and which has remained a subject of prolonged legal disputes. Salman Khan’s lawyer, Prag Khandehar, said the film cannot be screened in cinemas or released on OTT platforms until the next hearing. The court has directed all parties to submit their responses before the next hearing, which is scheduled for September 30, 2026. Salman Khan had filed a case against the producers of Kala Hiran seeking to stop the film’s production, promotion and release.
