President Zardari to Return to Pakistan Tomorrow After UK Visit

ISLAMABAD, 7 September, 2026 (Ghufran): President Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to return to Pakistan on Tuesday, September 8, after concluding his visit to the United Kingdom, according to sources. Sources said the president has postponed his planned two-day visit to France and will instead return home. Zardari’s departure from Pakistan had sparked speculation about possible tensions within the government; however, Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah dismissed reports that the president had left the country in anger. Sanaullah also rejected reports that Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi had travelled to convince the president to return to Pakistan. Speaking to a news channel, he said meetings between Naqvi and President Zardari were routine, as the interior minister frequently met the president. Sanaullah questioned why there should be any objection to Naqvi meeting Zardari, adding that the president had travelled to Britain with his family. He further said Naqvi had already returned to Pakistan and held meetings with officials at the Prime Minister’s House.
