Atif Aslam Highlights Creative Differences Between Pakistani and Indian Music Platforms

06 September, 2026 (Ghufran) — Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has opened up about the creative differences between Coke Studio Pakistan and Coke Studio Bharat, saying the Pakistani platform has a unique “magic” that he feels is missing from its Indian counterpart. During a recent conversation, Atif was asked what gives Coke Studio Pakistan an edge over Coke Studio Bharat, to which he simply replied, “Jaadoo.” He explained that although the musical compositions on both sides are good, Pakistani music retains stronger roots and rawness that give it a distinctive character. Atif suggested that Coke Studio Bharat places greater emphasis on commercialism, while Coke Studio Pakistan focuses more on original compositions and collaboration among musicians. He said artists on the Pakistani platform work together on compositions before bringing their individual styles to the final performance. According to Atif, this collaborative process allows musicians to contribute their own identity while maintaining the essence of the original composition, which he believes adds to the unique appeal of Pakistani music.
