Peace, Prosperity of Balochistan People Remain State's Top Priority: CDF Munir

QUETTA, 6 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has reaffirmed that the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Balochistan remain a top priority of the state. According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks while interacting with commanders and commanding officers of field formations during his visit to Quetta Garrison. During the visit, the COAS was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and ongoing measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability across Balochistan. Matters related to institutional coordination and support for the socio-economic development of the province were also reviewed, the ISPR said. Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the high standards of professionalism, operational readiness and selfless commitment demonstrated by the troops. He underscored the importance of continued coordination among law enforcement agencies and other state institutions to consolidate peace and maintain an environment conducive to sustained economic activity and development. He emphasised that a stable and secure environment would continue to facilitate development initiatives, create economic opportunities and improve prospects for the people of Balochistan. The COAS and CDF paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and lauded the steadfast dedication of officers and troops in the discharge of their duties. Upon arrival at Quetta, the army chief was received by the Commander Quetta Corps.
