
Khairpur, August 16, 2026(Nosheen): Polling is underway on Sunday in Sindh Assembly constituency PS-30 Khairpur, where voters are casting their ballots to elect a new representative following the death of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker Naeem Ahmed Kharl. A total of 254,980 registered voters, including male and female voters, are eligible to cast their votes in the constituency.The Election Commission of Pakistan has established 164 polling stations across the Gambat and Sobhodero tehsils of Khairpur district. Of these, 64 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive, 68 sensitive, while the remaining polling stations have been classified as normal. Polling commenced at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m. without any break. According to officials, PPP candidate Barrister Asfandyar Khan Kharl is contesting the by-election against seven independent candidates. To ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process, around 2,500 police personnel have been deployed across the constituency. Security arrangements have been strengthened at polling stations, particularly those declared highly sensitive and sensitive.Voters are expected to exercise their constitutional right by participating in the electoral process and choosing their representative for the Sindh Assembly.
