LAHORE, 09 August, 2026 (Ghufran): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a surprise visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and reviewed the immigration process and arrangements for passengers.During his visit, the Interior Minister inspected the immigration counters and inquired from the staff about the ongoing immigration process. He also interacted with passengers and asked them about the time being taken for immigration clearance.Passengers informed the Interior Minister that the immigration process was taking around 30 minutes and requested further improvement in the arrangements.Mohsin Naqvi assured the passengers that the immigration process would be expedited. Taking immediate action, he directed that all immigration counters at the airport remain operational to speed up the process and prevent unnecessary delays.
The Interior Minister said that keeping all counters open would help facilitate passengers and ensure smooth immigration clearance.During the visit, a passenger complained that an agent had taken money from him. Taking immediate notice of the complaint, Mohsin Naqvi directed that the matter be handed over to the FIA Director and ordered that the agent be arrested.The Interior Minister directed FIA officials to ensure that no person is allowed to travel on incomplete travel documents under any circumstances. He clarified that passengers possessing complete and valid travel documents should not be stopped from travelling.Mohsin Naqvi said that modern technology has made the immigration process easier and more efficient. He added that the crackdown against individuals attempting to travel on fake or fraudulent documents has been further intensified.The Interior Minister emphasized that passenger facilitation should remain a top priority and directed the relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to improve immigration services at the airport.
