LAHORE, 08 August, 2026(Nosheen): Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah has categorically rejected reports suggesting that he is considering leaving Pakistan cricket, describing the speculation as “fake” and “completely untrue.”Khushdil Shah, who made his international debut for Pakistan in November 2019, has represented the national side in 15 One-Day Internationals and 38 T20 Internationals. His most recent appearance came during the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup last year. The 31-year-old featured in only one match of the tournament, against the United Arab Emirates, where he scored four runs. He was subsequently left out of Pakistan’s playing XI for the remainder of the competition and later dropped from the national squad.
Speculation about his future intensified after a two-month-old interview resurfaced on social media on Friday. In the interview, fellow Pakistan all-rounder Abbas Afridi claimed that Khushdil had told him he had only around four months left in his career and would consider leaving Pakistan cricket if he did not receive a national team call-up during that period. The remarks quickly circulated online, triggering speculation that Khushdil Shah was planning to end his association with Pakistan cricket. However, Khushdil responded to the reports through his Instagram stories, firmly denying the claims. He termed the reports “fake” and “completely untrue,” while reaffirming his commitment to representing Pakistan. The all-rounder stated that playing for Pakistan has always been an honour and remains his highest priority.Khushdil further made it clear that his commitment to Pakistan cricket remains unchanged, saying that representing the country “has never changed and never will.”
