LAHORE, 07 August 2026 (Nosheen): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the match officials for the National Champions Cup, which is scheduled to be played in Multan from August 11 to 19.According to a PCB press release, former Test cricketers Ali Naqvi and Kamran Chaudhary will supervise the playing control teams throughout the tournament. Both officials are also members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Panel of Match Referees.The tournament will feature umpires from the ICC International Panel of Umpires, including Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Khan Aafreedi, Nasir Hussain, and Rashid Riaz Waqar. They will be joined by Abdul Moqeet, Syed Imtiaz Iqbal, Tariq Rasheed, and Zulfiqar Jan from the PCB National Elite Panel of Umpires.
For the opening match of the tournament on Tuesday, August 11, Asif Yaqoob and Zulfiqar Jan will serve as on-field umpires, while Faisal Khan Aafreedi will perform duties as the third umpire. Syed Imtiaz Iqbal will be the fourth umpire for the opening fixture.The PCB stated that in the final match, Ali Naqvi will lead the playing control team, which will include on-field umpires Asif Yaqoob and Rashid Riaz, third umpire Faisal Khan Aafreedi, and fourth umpire Nasir Hussain.The Champions Cup, featuring four teams — Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites, Pakistan Blues, and Pakistan Gold — will mark the beginning of the 2026-27 Pakistan domestic cricket season. The seven-match tournament will be played on a single-league round-robin format, with the top two teams qualifying for the final. All matches will be day-night fixtures and are scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm local time.
