Islamabad, 07 August , 2026(Kamran Raja): Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralised ten India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists during two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaffirming the country’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding national security. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was carried out on Thursday in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan District, where terrorists attempted to attack security forces’ checkposts. The attack was effectively repulsed, and during the ensuing exchange of fire, security forces eliminated eight terrorists through precise and professional engagement.
In a separate operation conducted the same day in District Dir, security forces successfully neutralised two more terrorists. Weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous acts of terrorism in the region. Following the operations, security forces launched sanitisation efforts to ensure that no terrorist elements remained in the area. The operations form part of Pakistan’s ongoing nationwide counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, aimed at eliminating all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism. The ISPR reiterated the resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to continue operations until the complete eradication of terrorist networks threatening the country’s peace and stability.
Pakistan has consistently maintained that India sponsors and supports terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory to carry out attacks inside Pakistan. Islamabad has also repeatedly urged the Afghan interim authorities to take effective measures against terrorist organisations using Afghan soil for cross-border attacks.The latest operations come amid continued security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), these two provinces accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related fatalities in Pakistan during the second quarter of 2026, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remaining the most affected province.Pakistan remains steadfast in its determination to defeat terrorism and ensure lasting peace, stability and security across the country through coordinated military operations and national resilience.
