Islamabad, 3 August 2026 (Nosheen): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the party’s successful candidates on PML-N’s strong performance in the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to all victorious PML-N candidates, stating that the party’s continued electoral success was the result of the dedication, hard work, and effective leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the entire PML-N team.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, PML-N conducted a well-organized and successful election campaign across Azad Kashmir. He added that the election results reflected the confidence and trust of the people of AJK in the party’s policies and vision for development. The prime minister reaffirmed that the development, prosperity, and welfare of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir remain among the top priorities of the PML-N government. He assured that all possible measures would be taken to fulfill the aspirations of the people and accelerate progress in the region.
Shehbaz Sharif also welcomed the active participation of various political parties in the second phase of the AJK elections, describing it as a positive sign for strengthening the democratic process and promoting political stability. According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz emerged as the leading party in the second phase of the AJK Legislative Assembly elections by securing 14 of the 19 contested seats.
