Order to hold local body elections in Islamabad tomorrow 31st December 2022
The Islamabad High Court annulled the decision of the Election Commission and ordered the local body elections to be held on December 31 as per the schedule. The court upheld the decision of the Election Commission. Issued a short written decision on the petitions of PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami, in the decision it was said that the decision of the Election Commission of December 27 is null and void, the local body elections of Islamabad should be held as per the schedule. The High Court said in the decision that the federal government should provide full support to the Election Commission for conducting the elections. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir read out the reserved decision on the request of PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami. The detailed decision will be issued later.
