
Côte d’Ivoire 08 April 2026(Kamran Raja):The Pakistan Women’s National Football Team has arrived in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of its participation in a historic international tournament, marking the country’s first-ever appearance in a FIFA event.
Head Coach Adeel Rizki expressed satisfaction with the team’s early preparations, stating that the squad has settled in well after arriving a few days ago. The team has already completed its first training session and is adapting to local conditions, including the climate and playing facilities. He also extended gratitude to the hosts for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements.
Speaking about the upcoming fixtures, Coach Rizki highlighted that facing Côte d’Ivoire for the first time is a strong source of motivation rather than pressure. He acknowledged Côte d’Ivoire as a prominent football nation with a rich sporting culture and emphasized that such matches provide valuable learning opportunities for Pakistan as it continues to develop its football structure and competitiveness on the global stage.
He further described the tournament as a significant milestone for Pakistan, noting that participation at this level is a major achievement for the players, management, and the national federation. “This is a moment to embrace with confidence and positivity. Vice-Captain Suha Hirani shared the team’s enthusiasm about competing in Africa for the first time. She emphasized that exposure to international football beyond South Asia is vital for the team’s growth.
