New York , August 9, 2025( Kamran Raja):The Pak American Society (PAS USA) hosted the 78th Pakistan Independence Day Celebration in Brooklyn, bringing together a large number of Pakistani-Americans from across New York and neighboring states to honor Pakistan’s independence, unity, and progress.
On behalf of Consul General Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, Deputy Consul General Mr. Umar Sheikh attended the ceremony and delivered remarks conveying the Consul General’s greetings and appreciation for the community’s steadfast support of Pakistan.
Mr. Sheikh highlighted Pakistan’s victory in Operation “Bunyan al Marsous” against India, describing it as a proud moment that reflects the courage, professionalism, and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces, as well as the resilience of the nation. He paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans, reaffirming that peace, stability, and national cohesion remain Pakistan’s guiding priorities.
The event featured patriotic speeches by children, as well as messages from community leaders emphasizing unity, service, and the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in contributing to Pakistan’s development. Speakers praised the sacrifices of the armed forces and urged continued support for Pakistan through education, investment, philanthropy, and promotion of the country’s positive image abroad.
Organizers thanked the Deputy Consul General for his participation and recognized the Consulate General’s ongoing outreach and support to the Pakistani-American community.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s peace and prosperity and enthusiastic chants of “Pakistan Zindabad,” as attendees pledged their commitment to national unity and to working together for a stronger, more prosperous Pakistan..
