6 May 2025, Islamabad(Kamran Raja): Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry met with Saudi Arabia’s Director General of Anti-Narcotics Major General Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Qarni along with a delegation. The delegation included Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, Major General Turki bin Abdulaziz, Brigadier Raji bin Muslim, Lieutenant Nawaf bin Muhammad Al-Hinki, Fawaz bin Khalid and Colonel Saeed Muhammad.
Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha, Additional Secretary Interior and senior officers of the Anti-Narcotics Force were also present on the occasion. The meeting agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in the fight against drugs.
Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan has a zero-tolerance policy regarding anti-narcotics. Drug trafficking is an international problem, this scourge can be controlled only through mutual cooperation between friendly countries. The Anti-Narcotics Force is performing brilliantly despite limited resources. Drugs worth $21 billion were seized last year. More than 40% of the world’s drugs are produced in Afghanistan.
The main reason for the action against illegal immigrants in Pakistan is serious issues like drugs and terrorism.
Major General Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Qarni said There are exemplary and brotherly relations with Pakistan in every field. We will have to work together to effectively combat the scourge of drugs.
Talal Chaudhry presented honorary shields to the delegation on behalf of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and also conveyed a message of good wishes for them.
