Pakistan Railways has signed agreements with two companies for laying optical fiber cables

Under the agreements signed with the Chinese and Pakistani companies, Pakistan Railways will provide the route to the companies to lay the optical fiber cable. The Chinese company will be able to lay the cable from Kemari to Peshawar Cantt on ML-1, in this regard, an advance payment of 256 million rupees has been made to Pakistan Railways. According to the second agreement, the Pakistani company will be authorized to use the right-of-way from Kemari to Lodhran. In this regard, thirteen and a half crores of rupees have been paid in advance by the company to the railways. These agreements have been made for a period of three years, which can be extended. Chief Executive Officer Aamir Ali Baloch signed the agreements on behalf of Pakistan Railways. On this occasion, he said that Railways is working on various avenues to increase its revenue, the optical fiber cable deal is an important step towards increasing the revenue stream of Railways. He said that the cooperation of national and international companies with Pakistan Railways is welcome which will open doors for such positive ventures in future. Amir Baloch further said that Quetta Division has been given the task of restoring Balochistan's connectivity with the rest of the country within two weeks. If the security situation improves, the train service will be restored immediately.
