
MUMBAI, 9 October, 2026 (Nosheen): Veteran Indian actor Vishwanath “Nana” Patekar has reportedly passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa, according to Indian media reports. Reports said the actor experienced severe chest pain at his flat early Thursday, prompting his son, Malhar Patekar, to call a medical team to the residence. However, Patekar was reportedly unconscious when the medical team arrived and was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at around 5:20am. Patekar, whose real name was Vishwanath Patekar, was widely respected for his contributions to Hindi and Marathi cinema. He began his film career in 1978 and earned acclaim for his powerful performances in numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome. His performances and distinctive acting style established him as a prominent figure in Indian cinema.
