DUBAI, 5 September, 2026 (News Desk): Pakistan and India could potentially face each other in a multi-nation cricket series as the International Cricket Council explores the possibility of organising a profitable tri-series or four-team tournament involving the arch-rivals, according to sources. The proposal is expected to be discussed during an ICC seminar on the Future Tours Programme, scheduled in Dubai on September 22 and 23. Pakistan has been advocating for a tri-series or four-nation tournament with India for several years, while the ICC is also examining whether multi-nation events could generate stronger commercial returns than traditional bilateral ODI or T20I series. Under the proposed format, Pakistan and India could be joined by one or two additional teams, with potential neutral venues including the United Arab Emirates, England or Australia. A Pakistan-India clash remains among the most commercially attractive fixtures in international cricket, although any engagement between the two sides would require approval from their respective governments. The two countries have not played a bilateral series since 2013 and have since met only in ICC and Asian Cricket Council multi-nation tournaments.
