Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley has said the Taliban’s decisions in November and December signaled a difference in women’s basic human rights. Nick Hockley, while giving a statement on the issue of withdrawing from the cricket series against Afghanistan, has said that due to the difference in basic human rights, we had to decide to withdraw. He said that we did not take the decision to withdraw from the ODI series against Afghanistan lightly, we consulted the government in detail. The chief executive of Cricket Australia says that this is a very challenging and sad situation.
Nick Hockley said that we were hopeful of playing the series and were in touch with the Afghan Cricket Board. It should be noted that the Afghanistan Cricket Board condemned Cricket Australia’s decision and cricketer Naveenul Haque announced to leave the Big Bash League in protest. Apart from this, Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan also expressed his disappointment on Cricket Australia’s decision.
