IG Punjab Aamir Zulfiqar Khan visited CTD Punjab Headquarters, reviewed actions and operations. Additional IG Imran Mehmood gave a briefing about the performance of CTD and the operations in the current year. In this year, 12429 intelligence-based operations were conducted while 1642 FIRs were registered and 2251 people were arrested. 64.36 kg of explosives, 48 hand grenades, 253 detonators, 7 batteries and firearms and bullets were recovered from the accused. The accused of Johar Town blast were punished and the accused of Anarkali blast were arrested. 74230 websites and pages involved in illegal activities were blocked. IG Punjab appreciated the performance of CTD and directed to speed up intelligence based operations. The extremists and their facilitators should be pursued until the end of terrorism and sectarianism.
IG Punjab said the file will not be closed in any case without investigating every incident of terrorism and bringing the criminals to the logical end. For me, corruption is not only financial, but irresponsible payment of duties is also serious corruption. IG Punjab also distributed prizes to the best performing officers and workers.
