HUM TV Unveils Teaser of New Drama Hurmat Starring Dananeer Mobeen

ISLAMABAD, 6 September, 2026 (Nosheen): HUM TV has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming drama Hurmat, starring Dananeer Mobeen in the lead role. The teaser, which is less than a minute long, suggests that the drama revolves around the journey of self-discovery of Hurmat, a young woman portrayed by Mobeen, who is kept confined to her home by her strict father, played by Ali Tahir. In the teaser, Hurmat is seen looking at the sky from her home for the first time while expressing her frustration over being denied the opportunity to attend university. Veteran actor Javed Sheikh also appears to have a significant role in the drama, with the teaser showing him helping Hurmat take her first steps into the outside world. The drama has been written by Kashif Anwar, whose previous works include Sabaat (2020) and Neem (2023) for HUM TV, as well as Nauroz (2023) for Green Entertainment. Anwar’s previous dramas have explored important social issues, including harassment, classism, mental health, social reform, feudalism, isolation and the struggle for survival. Hurmat is therefore expected to explore themes beyond a woman’s desire for freedom, particularly questions surrounding identity, social expectations and restrictions placed on women. A character in the teaser tells Hurmat that a woman receives a surname twice — once at birth and again after marriage — highlighting the protagonist’s apparent struggle with her identity and place in society. Produced under the banner of Momina Duraid and directed by Nadeem Siddique, Hurmat promises an engaging story featuring dreams, boundaries and the courage to challenge restrictions. However, the official on-air date of the drama has yet to be announced.
