Federal Minister for Planning and Development Professor Ahsan Iqbal presided over the review meeting on the progress of CPEC projects. Participation of officers of the concerned ministries in the meeting. During the visit of the Federal Minister of Planning and Development to China, the progress on the decisions was also reviewed. During the visit to China, the Chinese leadership agreed to hold a joint working group meeting every two months. On completion of a decade of CPEC, all ministries should prepare a report on the projects that have economic and social benefits for Pakistan. CPEC agreement signed between Pakistan and China on July 5, 2013. Nationwide celebrations will be organized on CPEC decade. All ministries ensure facilities for investment under CPEC. Government is taking proactive steps to protect investment. Regarding the upcoming JCC, all ministries should finalize the proposals of development projects. In four years of Muslim League (N), investment of 29 billion dollars came from CPEC.

The previous government sabotaged CPEC for which the nation is paying the price. Progress on ML1 and KCR reviewed. The projects of York-Zhob, Mirpur-Muzaffarabad-Mansehra, Babu Sir Tunnel, Upgradation of DI Khan and Alternative Alignment Motorway connecting Karachi to Hyderabad were also discussed in the meeting. Links with Chinese think tanks and scholars should be made effective: Federal Minister.
