Farewell ceremony held for PNS Tariq, the last type-21 class ship of Pakistan Navy.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was the chief guest at the farewell ceremony.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi welcomed the Foreign Minister on his arrival at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard.
The chief guest appreciated PNS Tariq’s outstanding services for the defense of the motherland in the last three decades.
The Foreign Minister praised the ship’s crew for maintaining the ship in excellent operational condition.

In 1993, Prime Minister Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto was the chief guest of the ceremony when this ship, taken from the Royal Navy of Great Britain, was inducted into the Pakistan Navy.

PNS Tariq has so far completed several missions and participated in search and rescue operations in Maldives after the tsunami in 2005.
PNS Tariq will be kept at UK Naval Museum as a memorial to Pakistan Navy and Royal Navy.
