Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has been elected as the 15th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq was elected Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir unopposed; he got 48 votes in the House of 52 which is the largest mandate in the history of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has been elected as the 15th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.

He said in his first address to the Assembly after being elected as the Prime Minister that he contested the election as an independent, he was voted by PDM and Tehreek-e-Insaf. Earlier, an emergency session of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held on Thursday night in which 15 minutes were given to submit nomination papers. The time for submitting nomination papers is from 12:40 PM to 12:55 PM on Thursday night. Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq was elected as the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir unopposed; the Assembly Secretary said that no one’s nomination papers were submitted by the government. After the unopposed election in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the voting process took place. According to the sources, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq had the support of 12 members of the People’s Party and Co-Forward Block, 12 members and 7 members of (N) League. Apart from this, Anwar-ul-Haq also decided the power-sharing formula with the opposition parties.
