State Bank announced new monetary policy, decision to maintain interest rate at 22%
A meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee was held under the chairmanship of Governor State Bank, in which the economic situation of the country was reviewed and it was decided not to change the interest rate.
According to the Central Bank, after the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, it was announced not to change the interest rate and it was decided to maintain the interest rate at 22 percent.
According to the State Bank, inflation increased in September 2023 while inflation is expected to decrease in October, increasing gas prices may have an impact on inflation.
It should be noted that the State Bank had decided to increase the interest rate by 100 basis points i.e. 1 percent on June 26, 2023, after which the base interest rate became 22 percent.
