Ambassador European Union Dr. Riina Kionka called on Federal Minister for Law and Justice Ahmad Irfan Aslam on 31st august 2023. Issues of mutual interest were discussed between the two sides. The ambassador congratulated the Law Minister on assuming charge as Federal Minister for Law and Justice. EU Ambassador talked about GSP Plus status of Pakistan and shared the latest numbers regarding trade and imports. According to latest numbers the overall trade has increased by 77 percent and imports have increased by 44 percent. Law minister said that Pakistan values its relations with European Union and the GSP plus status that EU has given to Pakistan. Dr. Riina Kionka also talked about the issues related to Climate change and the European Green Deal. EU sees itself as a leader of climate change. The goal of the deal is to move towards zero emissions by 2050. EU is working with Pakistan on two major areas: development cooperation and sustainable development. Priorities areas are KP, Baluchistan and GB. Law Minister expressed his gratitude for the cooperation.
