Islamabad, 22 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has selected renowned Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, popularly known as HSY, to design new uniforms for its cabin crew, with the collection scheduled to debut on October 31. According to a statement issued by the national flag carrier, the new designs will blend Pakistan’s cultural heritage and local craftsmanship with contemporary fashion, while reflecting the airline’s commitment to hospitality, passenger comfort and crew confidence. The collection will make its official debut aboard PIA’s inaugural Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from London to Islamabad on October 31, marking another step in the airline’s efforts to refresh its onboard identity under its new consortium-led management. PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan described the collection as a stylish step forward in the airline’s ongoing transformation, saying the designs would introduce a modern aesthetic while keeping passenger comfort and crew pride at the forefront. In a post on X, PIA described the initiative as “bringing runway glamour back to the skies” and confirmed HSY’s selection to create a new look for its cabin crew. The airline also highlighted its longstanding connection with international fashion, recalling that French designer Pierre Cardin designed its pioneering A-line tunic and hood in 1966, helping establish PIA as a prominent name in aviation fashion. The latest initiative is expected to strengthen the airline’s visual identity by combining Pakistani design elements with a contemporary international style.
