Bangladesh Replaces Pakistan in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

LAHORE, 9 October 2026 (Ghufran): Bangladesh will replace Pakistan in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy after the Pakistan Hockey Federation declined to send the national team to the tournament scheduled to be held in India from October 27 to November 5. According to sources, Bangladesh has confirmed its participation following an invitation from the Asian Hockey Federation. India will host the tournament, with matches scheduled to take place in Jalandhar and Mohali. Malaysia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and Bangladesh are set to compete in the event, while Oman had also been kept as an alternative team by the organisers. The updated draw for the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy is expected to be announced on Thursday.
