Cardiff, 22 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Former South Africa batter Colin Ingram has announced his retirement from professional cricket after a career spanning more than 22 years. The 41-year-old made the announcement on social media, saying he hopes to continue contributing to the sport through coaching roles and help inspire players to achieve their potential. Ingram said it was the right time to step away from playing but expressed his desire to continue contributing to Glamorgan in a new capacity and help develop the club’s future players. He initially joined Glamorgan as a Kolpak player in 2015 before moving to an overseas contract following changes to regulations. Ingram also enjoyed a successful T20 career, featuring in the IPL, T20 Blast, Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League and SA20. His international career with South Africa began in 2010 when he scored a century on his ODI debut against Zimbabwe. He later scored another century against Pakistan and added a third ODI hundred against the same opposition in 2013. Ingram also represented South Africa in nine T20Is, scoring 78 in his final appearance against India in 2012.
