
NEW YORK, 14 August 2026(Ghufran): A special ceremony was held in Bergen County, New Jersey, to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, bringing together a large number of Pakistani Americans from the county and surrounding areas.
Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai attended the gathering as the Chief Guest and conveyed warm Independence Day greetings to the Pakistani American community.
Addressing the gathering, the Consul General highlighted the significance of August 14 as a day of national pride, remembrance and renewed commitment to Pakistan’s progress.
He acknowledged the valuable role of Pakistani Americans in the economic, social and civic life of the United States and appreciated their continued efforts to preserve Pakistan’s heritage, culture and values.

The ceremony featured patriotic expressions and active participation by members of the Pakistani American community, reflecting their enduring connection with their homeland.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties and further promoting friendly relations between Pakistan and the United States.
The event concluded with expressions of solidarity with Pakistan and prayers for the country’s peace, prosperity, progress and stability.
