NAGOYA, 20 September, 2026 (Ghufran): The opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games has begun in Japan, with 10,840 athletes from 45 countries participating in competitions across 43 sports. Pakistan is also taking part in the Games, with both its men’s and women’s cricket teams competing in the event. Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has reached the semifinals of the cricket competition, while star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem is also set to compete at the Games. The 20th Asian Games are bringing together athletes from across Asia for competitions in a wide range of sporting disciplines.
